Are Chelsea Missing Lukaku and Timo Werner?

SportsFila team discusses Chelsea’s goal scoring problems and debate whether it’s just a center forward issue and if they’re better off without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner after the pair left in the summer. Are Chelsea Missing Lukaku, Werner and Former Coach Tuchel?

Chelsea are not a better team without lukaku and Werner, ESPECIALLY WERNER. Werner was just getting into his greatest form before the season ended and they just let him go like that. He could’ve been Chelsea’s highest scorer in the league.

Chelsea’s Away woes continue amid Lukaku and Timo Werner exits

The exasperation in the voice of the Chelsea head coach was clear as a post-match autopsy was carried out in front of the media. “It’s too easy to push us off the track, too easy to win challenges, too easy to bully us. What stops l that? Pure mentality. Stop it with a pure mentality.”

Those were not words delivered by Graham Potter after yesterday’s draw with Nottingham Forest. Such bluntness isn’t the 47-year-old’s style, at least not publicly. No, they came from the mouth of Thomas Tuchel back in August after Chelsea were defeated by Southampton.

Different coach, same problem. That is the gist – and it’s partly why such frustration has built following the clash at the City Ground. It shouldn’t be like this. It shouldn’t be this predictable: a tricky away stadium, a hostile crowd, a Chelsea performance that wilts under the pressure

Why did Chelsea fire coach Tuchel?

Several attacking players became frustrated with Tuchel’s tactical approach, particularly the emphasis on work without the ball rather than what they did in possession.

This issue isn’t fixed by just signing a striker. The technical level of Chelsea’s front line is on the floor. Sterling thrived in the city because he was surrounded by elite creators/technicians. The Blues had issues finishing chances in Tuchel’s first half season, so they signed Lukaku. The chances then dried up.

Are Chelsea Missing Lukaku and Timo Werner?

If signing a pure potent 9 was the answer, Lukaku would have worked and we wouldn’t be having these conversations. Chelsea now need a goalscoring attacker who has elite technical ability and can double up as a creator, Christopher Nkunku is that, he just isn’t here yet. Similar players include Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann and Memphis Depay.

What is the problem of Chelsea this season?

The two players Lukaku and Werner were not the problem, the service was the biggest problem. The only player that can create is Ziyech and he never plays. Players like Pulisic, Gallagher, Jorginho and Koulibaly are absolutely useless and the players you expect to provide like Havertz and Mount only want to score even though they are mostly wasteful.

The recruitment last summer was poor. Koulibaly hasn’t been good, sterling has been inconsistent, Aubamayang has been non-existent and a 50m contract for Potter was madness.

It’s all well and good to develop young talent but not every player is Reece and Mase. The questions Chelsea fans have to ask is are we supposed to support Chelsea now or in 7 years? Are you here to watch the PL2 side or the first team? Quite frankly the women’s team with Sam Kerr and Lauren James is my favorite. I don’t know what these jokers are doing

Koulibaly slow progress concerns remain at Chelsea: what should potter do next?

Having lost both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers, center-back was a position Chelsea simply had to strengthen in the summer transfer window. The first arrival was Kalidou Koulibaly, a defender regarded as one of the best in Europe over the previous decade after starring for Napoli.

At 31 years old, the Senegal international was a signing for the here and now. A player who would, in theory, soften the blow of losing the talismanic Rudiger to Real Madrid. Yet 16 matches into the Senegal international’s Chelsea career and big questions are being asked.

Did Koulibaly move to England too late? Can he adapt to the fast-paced nature of the Premier League? Should he continue to be used as a right center-back having spent much of his career on the left? And can he be played alongside Thiago Silva, another defender in his thirties?

When Last Did Arsenal Win the Premier League Trophy (Title)?

Published

on

Manchester United  and Mikel Arteta Gunners are FLYING this season: Is Erik ten Hag’s side Premier League TITLE CONTENDERS? SportsFila.com recap Arsenal’s EPL title chances and Man United’s scintillating form as of late under Erik ten Hag.

When last did Arsenal win the Premier League trophy?

London giants Arsenal Fc last won the Premier League title in 2003/04, gaining 90 points over the course of 38 games without losing a single match.

The club has won a total of 13 league titles (including one unbeaten title), a record 14 FA Cups, two League Cups, 16 FA Community Shields, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, and one Inter-Cities Fairs C.

Arsene Wenger’s greatest triumph came in 2003/04 when his side became the first since Preston in 1888/89 to complete an entire top flight league season without losing a game.

Ten Hags comment “all eras come to an end” haunted me from the day he said that.. Liverpool hadn’t looked the same, now City faltering and Brighton and Arsenal are flying.

Man utd last premier league title

Manchester United last won the Premier League in the 2012-13 season under Sir Alex Ferguson. That means that the Red Devils last won the Premier League title about 10 years ago.

This long title drought will have been compounded by the fact that city rivals, Manchester City, claimed the Premier League trophy 4 times in the past 5 seasons.

Man U are not title ready, but just to be near the top 2 right now, sets the precedent for a push next season and then season 3 goes after the title.

Is Mikel Arteta a BETTER MANAGER than ten Hag

I know we’re the biggest club in England, and people will always have an eye on us. But I wish we can have a run like Newcastle, off the radar and no one talks about us.

The one glaring issue with United is that if any of their starting XI get injured through the remaining half of the season, things can change VERY quickly. If Bruno, Casemiro, Rashford, Varane, Martinez, Eriksen, or even De Gea go down, they aren’t very deep (in terms of equal talent) at many positions.

As a United fan, I’m cautiously optimistic, as I don’t think anyone is catching Arsenal and United just need to focus on top-4, not trying to go all out for the title. I’d rather them win a cup and secure top-4 and be done with it, so they can go big in the summer to bring in quality reinforcements to challenge for the title and CL next season.

Premier League titles in Arsenal’s history

The Gunners have won three Premier League titles since the current inception of the league in 1992, all coming in the first 12 years of the league’s existence.

Let’s not get carried away, as well as the team has been performing, it is important to remind ourselves that they are still in a process and have not yet reached the proper levels of being champions. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be feeling optimistic, we should but there are things within their match performances that still need further tweaking.

Stop this over-confidence. Everytime Manchester United pick up form, this kind of narrative emerges. This has been the case for years. But to answer the question, no; Manchester United are still far from competing for the league title. Just let Manchester United do their thing in peace.

They are nowhere near title talk – Gary Neville predicts position Arsenal will finish.

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has said that a top-three finish for Arsenal this season would be sensational, insisting that they should be “nowhere near title talk” at the moment.

Recall that Arsenal narrowly missed out on UEFA Champions League football last season after finishing in the fifth position.

Rashford Unstoppable This Season #manutd

SEVEN CONSECUTIVE OLD TRAFFORD WINS! 🔥 | Man Utd 3-0 Bournemouth | Highlights. Marcus Rashford Unstoppable This Season #manutd

Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford each bagged a goal on Tuesday night to make it seven wins in a row at Old Trafford and our clean sheets continued too – making it four consecutive games without conceding!

Team Man. United has been doing a great job, worthy of applause, congratulations to all the players and the coaching staff.

Is just me or did Shaw’s goal reminded you of the goal he scored against Man City 1 or 2 seasons ago 🔥 Great build up and super clean finish.

It is three months since Manchester United were crushed 6-3 in the derby yet, slowly but surely, they have regrouped and are now breathing down their neighbour’s neck.

A fourth successive Premier League victory moved United to within a point of Manchester City and increased the pressure on the champions ahead of their visit to Chelsea on Thursday before the teams face each other in the second derby instalment at Old Trafford on Saturday week.

6 games 6 wins 3 goals conceded 15 goals scored 4 consecutive cleansheets🔥🔥🔥 Let’s keep up this momentum for the derby.

Quick reminder that Eriksen has the second most assists in the premier league and we got him for FREE. So so underrated.

Rashford on Fire 🔥

Erik ten Hag really really build this team to be amazing. Lovely goals!

Wishing Donny all the best. He looked much more like himself tonight, lots of energy and movement. So unlucky to get a nasty looking injury in that way. Come back stronger.

In-form Man Utd Marcus Rashford raise hopes of unlikely title bid

Such an improvement this season for all the lads. I don’t believe in getting carried away too early but I’m seeing so many positives. Praise to Shaw too, he’s been great so far this season.

He Gave Us Stability and Discipline: Bruno Fernandes Lauds Utd Boss ETH

Van de Beek’s departure saw Bruno Fernandes moved into the hole behind Anthony Martial from his position on the front and Alejandro Garnacho introduced. Suddenly, United looked much more threatening going forward, although Ten Hag complained about his team being too reckless at times.

“I think we ended up with two departments – one attacking and one defending and they [Bournemouth] ended up in between,” the Dutchman said. “It ended up like a tennis match and we don’t want to play tennis – we want to play football.”

United needed De Gea at his best to keep out a header from Philip Billing and two shots from Jaidon Anthony, Bournemouth’s lack of cutting edge in stark contrast to their opponents.

The best move of the game yielded United’s second goal and was all about Shaw, unleashed at full back again after that stint at centre-half, the England defender exchanging a one-two with Rashford and running from deep in his own half, finding Fernandes and ghosting into the penalty area to coolly dispatch Garnacho’s pass.

Convert Him to an Attacking Midfielder- Ten Hag Told Sancho is Not a Winger

Convert Him to an Attacking Midfielder- Ten Hag Told Sancho is Not a Winger

The problem is not only his position. It’s Sancho’s baby mind-set. He’s too scared to make mistakes, not resilient and breaks down when things don’t go his way. “Convert Him to an Attacking Midfielder”  – Ten Hag Has Been Told Sancho is Not a Winger.

Like Eriksen and Bruno, Sancho has the potential to be an attacking midfielder with his creativity and dribbling flair;  he can be unstoppable.

If you make him an inside forward, he slows the pace of the game as he isn’t as good at beating the opposing defenders himself. He reminds me of Mesut Ozil after Alexis Sanchez left Arsenal; he can assist but cannot score himself.

I actually agree, Sancho is being wrongfully deployed as a winger, and that holds his position most of the time in united and despite him having exceptional dribbling and ball carrying ability, he doesn’t create chances from out wide.

Antony santos is more fitted to that role. He excels at carrying the ball from outside to inside and from defense to attack, he also plays better with people around him.

Jadon Sancho would be much better if ten hag gives him instructions to drift into the middle with the ball like a mix of an inverted winger and a mezzala.

Former United defender Rio has told his Vibe with Five YouTube channel: “Jadon Sancho is an interesting one. He’s gone away and he’s doing personal training somewhere. I don’t know what’s happened or what’s behind all this. I don’t know what it is. Is he not fit or is it mental? What are they seeing at United? It would be nice to get that clarity.

Listen, Jadon Sancho is a south London boy so I care about him and want him to do well. But he hasn’t hit the ground running at Manchester United, for whatever reason. I don’t know why.

Convert Him to an Attacking Midfielder- Ten Hag Told Sancho is Not a Winger

Ferdinand said, “Man United actually need Jadon right now, they need another player because the depth on the bench isn’t great. Sancho would add to that but he needs to come back and be the Sancho we saw at Dortmund, the Sancho that got people off their seats. I watched an old video of Sancho the other day and he was tearing it up against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

That’s the Sancho I expected to see at United. I wanted him to come to the Theatre of Dreams and say: ‘This is my home, I’m going to own this place’. We just haven’t seen that yet and it’s actually grating on me as to why. I need to know why.”

Sancho is currently a winger, but what type of winger he is, is the question.

On the left, Sancho is an Inverted Winger who plays an attacking role, which is best suitable for him. Sancho on the right is an Advanced Playmaker whose role/duty is also attacking.

Either way, Sancho’s role on the left (LW) is different from Sancho’s role on the right (RW). Sancho isn’t a False 9, & isn’t an inside forward either. Same with Rashford, Marcus isn’t an inside Forward, but he’s an Inverted Winger, who plays a supporting role.

Sancho on the right will be more creative because of the duty assigned to him & the role he has to play. Heck, he will be able to take the load off Bruno’s back, in terms of creativity.

Why not Convert Him to an Attacking Midfielder? Ten Hag Told Sancho is Not a Winger

And he’s been entirely out of the line-up recently. Can’t blame Ten Hag for that since Garnacho’s been in great form lately. Thankfully, Sancho still has plenty of time left and is young.

Sancho has returned to training at Manchester United but will train alone, away from the rest of the senior players, manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed.

Sancho has not played since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on October 22 and last month traveled to the Netherlands for an individual programme after he was deemed not fit enough to be involved in the club’s training camp in Spain.
