This means lots of defensive actions outside the box and a high average distance for these actions.Being a good shot stopper, so having a high save percentage or over-performing their xG is also important, as well as the ability to stop crosses.

At 32, De Gea’s current deal ends this summer with the option of another year on the eyewatering £300,000-a-week terms that he signed in 2019. United would ideally like him to lower his wages and see out his deal.

The Spaniard is valued at €15m by Transfermarkt.

I absolutely love de gea, he’s been our saviour many a time, and player of the year several times, sadly I feel like maybe this needs to be his last season with us, only because the goalkeeping position has evolved and we need a keeper who can use his feet and distribution better. In the end we’ll be playing Champions football next season. EtH is the first manager that most United fans believe in and trust and is giving us hope for a brighter future, together we’re RISING.

After one season it is too soon to judge Ten Hag.

However, looking at his first season he has the personal capabilities to join Sir Mat and Sir Alex as a legendary United Manager. The only thing that will hold him back is who takes over from the Glazers and how they back him with player recruitment & development and how much time they give him.
