Man Utd Fans React to Man City Champions League Success

Pep is a world-class coach. He has seen it all in football. Even as a MANUTD fan, SportsFila admires Manchester City as a club and Pep as a coach. I hope next season the reds will do something more.

Congratulations to Manchester City on their achievements! Pep Guardiola has undoubtedly established himself as one of the greatest managers of all time, regardless of whether or not he achieved the treble. His impact on the game and his ability to transform teams is remarkable. Pep’s tactical genius, attention to detail, and commitment to beautiful, attacking football have consistently brought success to his teams. His track record, which includes numerous league titles and domestic cups, speaks for itself. Pep Guardiola’s influence on the game will be remembered for years to come, and he has certainly left an indelible mark on Manchester City’s history.

For sporting greatness to be achieved, there needs to be a defining moment. The Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday was Manchester City’s, the scene where an obsession finally became reality and history was made.

Ever since Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Abu Dhabi United Group took ownership of the club in 2008, winning Europe’s premier cup competition had been the ultimate aim.

Hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent in the last 15 years, and controversy has surrounded the club, but now the Champions League is, finally, theirs after a 1-0 win over Inter Milan which will live long in the memory for the significance of the result, rather than the match itself.

This was not only a night when City won its first Champions League. In

Seeing KDB got subed off brought back a feeling of De ja vu but it was always written in the stars that we were meant to win this trophy and what a season we’ve had successful completed the treble, this might just be the start of our dominance in Europe Com’on city.

Winning the champions league is one of the greatest feeling to ManCity fans. Winning the treble with the UCL cup makes it more sweeter after past failures in this competition.

Liverpool fan here. “I’m so envious of what Man City has become. Congratulations Cityzens, well deserved.
I must add, both goalkeepers were excellent in this match kudo to them.”

SportsFila.com reacts to Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League Final and complete the 2nd English football club to win the European Treble.

Match was boring for like 60min, 1 real chance by Haaland. Most of the game felt like City was just testing Inter for weaknesses. Inter had the intensity but not the quality to really send it home. Well played City, even after losing KDB and the ref being on Inter Milan’s side during challenges, your quality spoke volumes.🏆👏👏👏

Onana is the type of keeper United need, dudes confidence on the ball is insanE.

United or Arsenal: Who CAN win the Premier League title first?

It was a final of fine margins. The chances between the two teams were just far and few. Inter really gave City a tough time contrary to most people’s expectation of a City thrashing, it became a narrow win at end. A big congrats to City for this historic win and for matching United’s treble achievement.

I found this game extremely tactical. I think the Inter press and their defending made it very difficult for city to play how they would have liked. The city players were nervous. Ultimately I really enjoyed the game because it was very tactical, but I guess these type of game isn’t to everyone liking especially those who hate or don’t understand or care for tactical games.

Haaland Hoping for Ballon d’Or After Taking City Champions League Glory

Derrick Ombasa: “We might say it is luck on City’s side, but one thing I will say is that City have finally learned how to WIN A FINAL!!! There is no beauty in how a final is a won. You just have to win it in any manner possible and today was an exhibit of just that. Congratulations to Pep and the team for doing us proud!”

A Man City fan speaks to SportsFila: “I am ecstatic that we won. No one expected the game to be as tight as as it was other than these pundits. Give credit to Inter for making it a fight. Inter sense of positioning and knowing when and who to press was magnificent. That created problems for city’s normal way of play. Inzaghi did an awesome job in setting his team up. These pundits, and all due respect to them, has this idea of analysing this game. This is not the premier league. It’s a once off game. Anything could have happened. Everyone played their part wether good or bad, including Haarland. Forget about the Madrid game, they did well when it needed to be. That’s it. Go Man City”

Talking about the context of the game when they finally got over the line for the 1st time is crazy , we have all watched enough footbball to know that you dont always play your best game in a final , Man City have been so good this season they are a victim of their own standards . The finals was always going to be tough for a team that has never won it before . These guys wanted to see some standard 5 nil performancefrom city like it’s burnley or something . They fought for that one today and these pundits are mad because it wasnt one sided as they predicted.

Andre Onana makes Champions League promise to Man Utd

The Athltic told SportsFila Andre Onana has signed his Manchester United contract and is booked on a flight to join his new team-mates in New York on Thursday.

“I really want to start this new experience. It’s exciting and with a coach who is a master for me. I’m going to a big league and a big club, which has a huge history just like Inter’s,” Onana told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’ll start over from scratch and I’ll give everything every day to show new fans who I am. Playing in the Premier League and for a club like United is irresistible. I want and I hope to win the Champions League at Manchester United.

Donny van de Beek Breaks Silence on Man Utd Exit Rumors

The contract is a five-year deal with the option of a further year, keeping him at the club until at least 2028.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper was at Carrington on Wednesday to complete medical tests and finalise the paperwork on his €55m transfer from Inter Milan. It now remains only for the clubs to sign the final paperwork on Thursday for the deal to be completed.

According to The Athletic, Onana has been booked on a flight to New York on Thursday, where he will join Ten Hag’s squad. He completed the final stages of his move at Carrington on Wednesday.

The Red Devils have completed the required visa process for their latest signing and will announce his arrival in the next 24 hours. As he flies out over the Atlantic, Onana could play a part in Saturday’s friendly with Arsenal.

Onana was part of an Inter side that finished runners-up in the Champions League last season, with the keeper putting in an impressive performance against Manchester City in the final.

BREAKING! Bruno Fernandes named new Man Utd captain

Onana: “I want to win trophies with my new companions and I’m excited to go to a huge club. The important thing is to be honest and always tell people the truth. I am a person who always wants new challenges. All parties wanted this to happen.

“Now I’ll cheer [Inter] in front of the TV. I wish Inter to win the Scudetto that we missed right away. I know how much everyone wants the second star, I hope the time has come to put it on their chests.”

Onana is a player Ten Hag knows well. He was a regular at Ajax under the Dutchman and is well-versed in the manager’s approach.

The Cameroon international has an exceptional passing range, confidence with the ball at his feet, commands his box very well and is also an outstanding shot-stopper.

Those skills were on display during Inter’s run to the recent Champions League final, where they lost 1-0 against Manchester City. Even in defeat, the 27-year-old showcased his ability as a world-class goalkeeper.

While City were the team that everyone expected to dominate in possession and break down the opposition through the ability of their goalkeeper on the ball, it was actually Inter who caused the most problems thanks largely to Onana’s bravery building out from the back.

Big disgrace to Man Utd and Alex Ferguson’s record. Guardiola Wins Champions League as City Completes theTreble, SportsFila has no option but to congratulate our noisy neigbors for winning their first ever UCL.

Some post-match reaction from Rodri
“I’m emotional,” says the scorer of City’s winner in a post-match chat with BT Sport. “This is a dream come true. All these guys around here, waiting 20, 30, 40 years … I have been here just four years but they deserve; I deserve. In the last years we were so close.” He goes on to blow a kiss towards heaven to thank God and says “this is a dream come true for all of us”.

Haaland didn’t touch the ball more than 5 times the whole game. Two Milan defenders did their utmost to avoid stopping the ball going in and De Bruyne wimped out of the game..

Rodri on Inter: “It wasn’t easy,” he says. “I mean, what a team we faced. It was uneblievable the way they defended, the way they counter-attacked. They deserve also credit because they are a great team but I don’t want to forget about my lads. I wasn’t good in the first half, I was playing shit to be honest. And then I just said to myself you have to overcome this mentality and I scored the goal.”

Are Man City better than Man Utd 1999 Treble winners?

Rodri fired the winning goal as Manchester City finally claimed Champions League glory and completed the treble with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Inter Milan.

Guardiola Wins Champions League as City Completes Treble

Manchester City have been crowned UEFA Champions League winners after a 1-0 win over Inter in Istanbul. Rodrigo’s goal secured the victory on a glorious night for the football club that saw scenes of jubilation among the City supporters inside the Ataturk Stadium and across the world.

The victory over Inter completes a historic Treble, with the European crown added to the Premier League and FA Cup successes. It is only the tenth occasion a European side has won a Treble, with City joining Celtic (1967), Ajax (1972), PSV Eindhoven (1988), Manchester United (1999), Barcelona (2009 and 2015), Inter Milan (2010) and Bayern Munich (2013 and 2020).

Manager Pep Guardiola has now won 14 major trophies since joining the club in 2016 – a collection comprising five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, one Champions League and two Community Shields – and he becomes the first manager to win two European Trebles (Barcelona 2009 and City 2023), SportsFila.com reports

Man Utd Failed to Stop Mancity Treble

The midfielder rifled home in the 68th minute as the Premier League winners City wore down the Italians in a draining final at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

The contest was a tight one, with City suffering a serious blow in pursuit of the prize that has eluded them for so long when they lost Kevin De Bruyne to injury in the first half. The prolific Erling Haaland was also kept quiet by a stubborn Inter side but Rodri eventually made the breakthrough with a firm strike after a Bernardo Silva pass was deflected into his path.

Manchester City are champions of Europe

It’s all over at the Ataturk Stadium! Manchester City have won the Champions League and completed their league, FA Cup and European Cup treble. They came up against formidable opposition in the form of Inter but have prevailed thanks to Rodri’s second-half strike. Fittingly enough, it was the most Manchester City-under-Pep style goal that you will ever see.

Man City secure landmark Champions League victory that stretches beyond historic treble
It didn’t quite happen in the way expected, but Manchester City of course made it inevitable. The English champions have finally become the European champions to complete a treble and also bring a long-term Abu Dhabi project to its culmination. At least of this stage of it. After a 1-0 win over Internazionale that will offer a release as much as relief, it’s hard not to think they could go on and win it again and again, confirming Pep Guardiola as the greatest coach of all time.

5 Players Man Utd Must Replace in the Next 5 Years

Published

on

Why Man Utd need to think 5+ transfer windows ahead /Getty Images, Goal.com

According to Tifo Football, Erik Ten Hag’s first season in charge of Manchester United has been largely successful. A few embarrassing defeats along the way, he has picked up a League Cup trophy and secured European football for next year.

But how far are United from challenging for the Premier League title? And can they do it with this squad?  Man Utd need to think 5+ transfer windows ahead

SporstFila investigates the profile of the squad, and where they need to improve. Here are 5 Players Man Utd Must Replace in the Next 5 Years.

On top of a new striker and midfielder, we will likely need replacements for De Gea, Varane, Eriksen and Casemiro in the near future, as well as backups to replace Maguire, Martial and possibly Lindelof. With how much Fernandes plays who knows how long he can play at the required level. And if we sign Harry Kane he too will likely have to be replaced without resale. (in 5-7 years if we are lucky).

Ten Hag Shortlists 3 Goalkeepers to Replace David De Gea

Despite all the spending on players we have done, Arsenal and Man City are in a much better long-term position meaning we still have to invest heavily in the squad. Newcastle will be in the mix and you can’t count Liverpool out. Spurs could be taken over too in the next 5 years. If we don’t get the Qataris they will buy someone else, so you can guarantee there will be at least 4 other clubs challenging.

Can we really expect to keep up with the Glazers in charge? I think if they stay in control we are absolutely screwed. If Ratcliffe comes in we can only hope he invests enough, because if we don’t build a squad for the future the next 10 years will be no different from the last 10.

De Gea has to be replaced soon

If only they could have listened to ralf ragnick in that January transfer window to grab Julian Alvarez and Zakaria under low prices..ten hag’s work would’ve been so easy…it still baffles me that ralf ragnick as consultant of Man utd never happened.

The biggest issue the club has is moving players on. Offering huge deals to De Gea this year and Pogba last year is crazy. The club needs to learn that letting a player leave on a free or for under value is better than offering them a ludicrous contract.

is Harry Maguire Going Back to Championship Club Leicester City?

Arsenal were in this exact same position 3 years ago, ageing squad who wasn’t good enough, brand new manager who has never managed before, big money signings who flopped really hard and hostile supporters but luckily arsenal had supremely talented hale end graduates who were desperate to play in the first team. Martinelli, saka, smith-rowe and nketiah probably saved the club at least €300 million.

First, the right owner must take over, then the best backroom staff, after that can they think about the team. It all starts from the very top.

I don’t know seeing players dominate into their mid thirties like Benzema, Messi etc in today’s game makes me believe 30 being the point where most players retire is a thing of the past. idk there’s just too many players in their thirties playing world class. It might just be a new thing in modern football that’s the new norm rather than an anomaly.

I thought we needed a huge rebuild and expected a mid table finish this year. But we plastered over the cracks and went for Europe instead. I hope it works out and we can begin the true rebuild this year. If we can rebuild while in ucl then I’m happy bc it’ll be hard to draw players to a rebuild without top competition draw.

Who Manchester United will sign in a transfer window is an oft-repeated question football fans ask across a season, the club usually one of the most willing to splash the cash and put their money where their mouth is.

While this approach hasn’t resulted in a Premier League title in 10 years, Manchester United are invariably always willing to shell out on yet another high-profile transfer in a bid at glory once again.

Erik ten Hag New Manchester United to Dominate the English Premier League

They severely need younger reinforcements. KDB and gundo are well into their 30s already. City are fortunate that they both haven’t started declining just yet. Even Mahrez is 32. They need atleast 2 new midfielders and at least 1 new winger.

Victor Velasquez says to SportsFila.com: “I don’t know why people keep bringing up RB as a position to strengthen, has Dalot not been good? Has AWB not been rejuvenated this season? I’m not saying that if the opportuinity to sign someone like Jeremie Frimpong comes up they shouldn’t take it but surely a starting GK, CM, ST and a few depth players to raise their floor are more important than signing a new RB?”

Ten Hag speaks to Man United Players

United’s problem is top to bottom, they clearly lack a footballing minded decision makers in their board of directors. Ed Woodward’s almost decade long tenure was like a festering wound. Arnold & Murtough capability football wise is still yet to be seen. I wouldn’t fully trust anyone the Glazers appointed though. Tldr: they need a new owner.

Rio Ferdinand Reacts To Man Utd Season With Erik Ten Hag

The Dutchman is expected to want to strengthen several positions within his armoury, with central-midfield set to rank right at the very top of his list. The Reds are in desperate need of bolstering that area of the pitch and no shortage of names are already being linked with strengthening the engine room.

The reports of a smaller budget I would really avoid going for a few big signings but rather make the squad younger and more technical. Trust our scouts or go for players who Brighton and Benfica are interested in lol. Give ten Hag a base to improve on with a new goalkeeper, new centre midfielders, a new centre back and a striker. Reckon with sales can have a budget of 150 million.

he idea with the introduction of ETH was a rebuild. Im not too fussed about not competing for top trophies just yet, would rather see young quality players brought through and a style of play, discipline and winning mentality be instilled. This takes time. Spending money on big names has never gotten us anywhere in the previous windows. We need to be patient but deliberate.
