Two seasons, 22 appearances and 4 goals later, Nunez was sold to UD Almeria in the Spanish second tier for around 12 million pounds.

Directly involved in 18 goals in 30 appearances in his proper season in the starting eleven, Nunez was snapped up by Benfica ahead of the 2020-2021 season for 22 million.
