Trinity recently shed light on this complicated dynamic during her appearance on the hit podcast ‘Call Her Daddy,’ revealing how her father’s larger-than-life lifestyle has profoundly affected their family.
Living with the ‘Rebound King’
Trinity shared her memories from the brief period she and her family spent under the same roof as the legendary Rodman, then a global basketball sensation. However, the ideal image of a doting father quickly faded away. She recounted how lavish parties at home often forced her and her siblings to “parade” around for guests, creating a facade of family unity.
In reality, though, Dennis was more absorbed in maintaining his party persona than in emotionally supporting his children. The looming absence of a nurturing father figure left deep scars on Trinity. “I lost hope in ever getting him back,” she expressed, adding, “Now I answer the phone just to ease my conscience, thinking he needed to hear my voice. Not for me—he’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else.”
Trinity’s Journey: Rising Above
Despite wrestling with the impact of her father’s choices, Trinity Rodman refused to let his shortcomings dictate her narrative. In 2021, she shattered records by becoming the youngest player ever drafted into the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
