The answer to Man United’s problem could come in the form of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. The Morocco international was a star of the World Cup, has a relationship with Erik ten Hag from their time together at Utrecht, and has been linked with United for much of the summer.
“They want to buy Sofyan Amrabat for a reason,” Gary Neville told Sky Sports. “He wants everybody in the team to be able to accept the football and receive it. Sofyan Amrabat coming in, he is a passer of the ball and can sit in there alongside Casemiro.”

It’s always easy to single out players and manager’s mistakes but it’s a lot harder to fully understand the big picture of this major team rebuilding by ten Hag. After fielding the exact same team on first 2 macthes and saw the result, I hope the gaffer would come up with “interim solution” untill all major pieces of puzzle are ready on the table.
The favourite would have to be Mount but he’s just bought him so I can’t see this happening any time soon, so that leaves the full back not involved in the attack to be more defensively minded to help cover Casemiro.
Play Sancho as a false nine, thought he played excellently in this position in preseason, move Rashford to left wing, I don’t think Antony should be in the starting eleven but I can’t see ETH dropping him anytime soon after paying £80 mil plus for him, play Pellistri on the right.
People just go crazy without seeing things objectively. This was obvious in preseason, especially with the fitness levels (the first team didn’t get much game time in preseason). Bruno wide play is key, because positional flexibility is becoming quite important.
The thing with the positional flexibility (like in the case of Rashford), would be clear when Hojlund comes in as their interchangeability on the go, would be incredible. The same thing would happen with Bruno.

ManCity is doing far better. I’m not worried about what’s happening on the pitch. it’s what’s happening off it that concerns me. The system will take time. But yes, Erik Ten Hag should have slowly made the transition.

ETH is a highly resillient manager to go through all the crisis and egos, poor performances, players personal issues and ownership drama and come out on the other side with these kind of performances. He brought in the right striker young full of potential and work ethic. Young players are starring in the squad WE ARE ON THE WAY.

All the instability across the club that he’s gone through and still kept us in the Top 8. Now he’s finally seeing the other side of the drawn-out “club sale, no-sale”, multiple injuries, media controversies, spoiled players, and all the other nonsense, we see the team moving into sixth position. The man deserves all the praise in the world for being so resilient.
It’s interesting hearing ten hag speaking on rashford because he mentions a lot of qualities which he possesses, however they are all physical and technical, the one thing he didn’t speak positively about was his mentality and for me this is what has always separated Rashford from the very best.
In football and sport as a whole mentality is the one thing you need more than anything, it’s what separates the good from the great and I don’t know if rashford has that real hunger and desire in him to be great. The kind of desire where you’re willing to get hurt to score a goal.
