Madrid terminates Hazard contract: Should United Sign Him?

“Real Madrid CF and Eden Hazard have reached an agreement whereby the player will be released from the club as of June 30, 2023,” a statement read.
“Eden Hazard has been part of our club for four seasons, in which he has won 8 titles: 1 European Cup, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups.
“Real Madrid wants to express its affection for Eden Hazard and wishes him and his entire family the best of luck in this new stage.”

Chelsea legend Mikel said that Hazard was the laziest player he had ever seen. He said that Hazard would barely train and run with the others, but would produce during games. The moment SportsFila knew the Madrid’s Hazard was gone was when we watched him struggling to dribble past a player.
Apart from Messi, Hazard was the most natural dribbler I’ve ever seen. The simplicity, effortlessness and elegance of his dribbling and playmaking was second only to Messi. It’s heartbreaking to see that his move didn’t work out well at Madrid.
At Chelsea, Hazard was needed to be at his best in order for Chelsea to win. At Real Madrid he doesn’t have to be great for Real Madrid to win. Heck he can ride the bench and collect 2 la liga titles and a UCL trophy while being the highest paid player on the team. I don’t think he could be bothered anymore. He’s chillin but content.
As noted in the club’s farewell statement for Hazard, the Belgian picked up eight trophies during his time in Madrid but played a bit-part role in all of them.
There can be much disappointment when looking back on Hazard’s time in Spain given the drop in performance levels from his stint at Chelsea.

Even when he was at his best at Chelsea, there were former teammates criticizing his work ethic, you had people like Jose Mourinho saying that he’s an awful trainer, calling him lazy, a player who never worked hard during training but on the field he was 8 or 9/10 every week with his performances.

Showing up overweight is unacceptable and many feel like his lack of work ethic has played a big role in why he never got going at Real Madrid and that plays a part in it when it was noticeable that he’d always gain some weight at Chelsea and yet would still perform and that may have caught up with Eden Hazard at Real Madrid because when you start picking up injuries and lose your form and confidence, you now have to work even harder and that’s been difficult.

It’s interesting hearing ten hag speaking on rashford because he mentions a lot of qualities which he possesses, however they are all physical and technical, the one thing he didn’t speak positively about was his mentality and for me this is what has always separated Rashford from the very best.
In football and sport as a whole mentality is the one thing you need more than anything, it’s what separates the good from the great and I don’t know if rashford has that real hunger and desire in him to be great. The kind of desire where you’re willing to get hurt to score a goal.
