Manchester United to Rebuild Old Trafford Stadium

Manchester United to Rebuild Old Trafford Stadium /getty images

In May 2022, BBC Sport visited Old Trafford to find out why Manchester United are exploring options for renovating or expanding their home – could they even build a completely new stadium?

Manchester United Are Set to Rebuild Old Trafford Stadium into an Ultramodern Soccer Home Ground for the Red Devils, SportsFila.com Learns from Latest Tifo Update.

It’s an iconic stadium and instead of spending fortunes building a completely new stadium it would be a much better idea to renovate the current stadium with all that money. The Old Trafford revamping bill would cost more than the £1.1 billion spent to build the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium could host 81,044 fans in its old form. However, after the renovation, it is able to hold close to 85,000 spectators.

Kieran Rae, an old Trafford season ticket holder speaks on the redevelopment of the Theater of Dreams– “This stadium would be hugely improved if they sorted out the basic things. It doesn’t need a massive revamp, it needs the roofing fixed so it doesn’t leak onto the supporters.

The card machines need to be reliable so people can actually buy food and drink when they’re not taking cash. It needs, and I can’t believe I’m saying this in 2022 – WIFI! There is NO signal in the entire stadium. If you got regularly and experience these issues, you are left thinking why is a huge revamp being talked about when just the basic necessities that half of league 1 stadiums have aren’t in place at OT.”

Is Elon Musk going to buy Manchester United? No, SportsFila has confirmed that’s a joke by Elon Musk, a Man Utd billionaire fan. The Glazers owners have not declared their intention to sell.

Unfortunately, the American owners that United have, have totally ruined the reputation and legacy of this great club… This stadium was such a fortress for us, where dreams used to come through.. No matter if we should build a new stadium, it’d still be old as long as the Glazer’s are still running it… We can only rebuild by getting rid of the head.

This shouldn’t just be about a new stadium or redevelopment, it should be about a master plan for Trafford not just United. Missed out on getting in on the Quays developments or media city, didn’t want the metro link expansion – there truly is some short sighted ambition-less muppets running United.

My preference would be a new stadium and reconfiguring OT into a quality venue for the Women’s and Youth sides. Make the current structure the genesis of everything we do and retain the history that way. IT could be a 52 week a year destination if the owners had some ambition. Ultimately, they have never known the size of the opportunity they stumbled upon.

One thing fans never comment on is if United add 16000 seats upto 90,000 do they think they will go to new season ticket (ST) holders or tourists paying £50 a pop? The glazers want tourists not new ST holders because they will almost double their take per seat. Plus the away allocation will go up. United need to be ambitious – and we will never get that with the Glazers.

It’s easy for teams to just say rebuild the stadium from the ground up and tear it down. But for clubs that have made sporting history these grounds are almost like a historical landmark for visitors, tourists. The infrastructure has to be rebuilt from within. The ground can look old school and vintage but the facilities inside have to be improved, seats, venues inside the ground for tourists and match goers.

What is The Big Problem with Manchester United’s Stadium Old Trafford?

Old Trafford has been neglected. Literally. For years the home of Manchester United, “The Theater of Dreams” has been allowed to deteriorate.

How much would it cost to renovate Old Trafford?

The Old Trafford renovation would increase the Old Trafford capacity to 90,000 and improve United’s training ground has been pegged at costs more than UK£200 million (US$236 million).

From leaking roofs to rodents on the pitch and dodgy WiFi. Old Trafford needs an upgrade.

Why has it been allowed to happen? How much would it cost to repair? Manchester United facing ‘£1.5bn bill’ to rebuild Old Trafford.

On the 7th May, in a letter to Manchester United fans, Joel Glazer wrote: “We recognise that we will need to significantly increase investment in Old Trafford and our training complex to ensure that the club’s facilities remain among the best in Europe. As part of this, we will consult with fans on investments related to the stadium and the matchday experience.”

they’re consistently one of the wealthiest teams in football and can’t even fix the basics of their stadium. No fans will want to be in a rotten stadium regardless of the football product on the pitch.

During the 2012 Spain Morocco game, fans couldn’t believe it when they saw a huge amount of water leaking down onto the seats.

It’s honestly sad to see the state of the stadium and the surrounding area, meanwhile on the other side of Manchester, the city has redeveloped the whole area, even building affordable housing for the community, shows what can be done when your owners actually care.

Today, Old Trafford is in a sorry state, a cramped ground with terrible facilities, only 3 seasons ago an elderly gentleman died after falling down the exit during a game against City, if you happen to be sat at the back of any of the 3 big stands, you have trouble seeing the whole pitch, especially the goal at the opposite end, in comparison to City’s, Arsenal’s & Tottenham’s new grounds, it’s decades behind…. As a United supporter, it’s sad to cope with such lackluster facilities!.

UK billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of cycling team Ineos Grenadiers and Ligue 1 club Nice is believed to be interested in buying a stake in Manchester United FC, with a view to taking full control of the Old Trafford club. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is interested in buying Manchester United if the club is for sale by the Glazers.
With a current seating capacity of 81,044, it has been the home stadium of Real Madrid since its completion in 1947. It is the second-largest stadium in Spain and third-largest home to a top-flight European club after Camp Nou and Westfalenstadion.

Gareth Southgate to Manchester United Doesnt’ Make Sense

Published

There is NO REASON for Gareth Southgate to be linked with the Manchester United job

Gareth Southgate is the only person in the Universe who can turn Manchester United into Middlesbrough within no time

The English media is trying all their best to push Southgate to united, but he is championship level manager at best

The England national team is waay better than this Manu squad, and he has had 0 success ( reaching semis ain’t success). So what exactly are people expecting if he becomes Manu boss

Absolutely no way! Why would Man U hire Southgate? That would be the worse decision in the history of the game.

ETH outwitted Klopp last weekend in one of the best and most dramatic FA cup clashes in years and I’m sorry but Southgate would not have won that game and ETH has had to deal with Ronaldo, Sancho, Greenwood and so on, he deserves more time

I have been saying this for weeks now. If United were under any other manager especially Southgate, they would be fighting for relegation right now. The problem at United is not Ten Hag but the players.

People keep saying that Ten Hag’s style of football at United is not attractive and no identity but there is so much that a manager can do if the players themselves are not good enough or not putting enough effort. Ten Hag’s Ajax were playing attractive football and he managed to get them to the SF of the CL.

Without him, look at Ajax now. And the media keep pushing their agenda to get Ten Hag sack and replace him with a much worse manager like Southgate. If Ten Hag is managing England right now, with the players they have, we won’t see such a passive football like we saw yesterday vs Brazil. Ask Liverpool fans, would they replace Klopp with Southgate? I rest my case.

Liverpool blame themselves for FA Cup loss to Man United

Liverpool only have themselves to blame for loss to Manchester United. Had to find a way to squeeze in the random Bruno slag off in between. Dude was dead on his feet at full time, and had to slot in to center back for the last 30 minutes.

SportsFila reflect on Manchester United’s 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup Quarterfinals and look ahead to the semifinals where Erik ten Hag’s side will take on Coventry.

How come everybody seems to have forgotten that 2 of LFC’s goals were pure luck?

More shots, same shots on goal, higher goal expectancy. What is this narrative that Liverpool should have put this game away, if anything we should’ve put this game away! They had a good 20, 25 minute stint where they kept the ball in the second half, but did nothing with it, we deservedly won this game.

For Liverpool fans: don’t say that we lost to Manchester United because Jota Trent Alisson and jones didn’t play. We have to stop doing that every time a team loses a big game it’s very stupid because had you won, you wouldn’t be saying that. Don’t forget that when y’all drew 0-0 to them at home Trent Alisson and Jones started. Keep in mind how well they’ve been playing despite having lots of injuries they almost beat Manchester City’s full strength squad last week.

Also, you lose to Manchester United, 2 fringe players for them decided the game for them, Liverpool didn’t play well and a loss is a loss you have to accept it otherwise you’re a sole loser and are unwilling to take it.

It’s interesting how nothing much is said about the mistakes made by Liverpool, but all criticism is piled on Bruno; how supposedly poor he was.

Ten Hag Says Man United Are on Track

Ten Hag claims United is moving in the right direction 👀 WHAT DIRECTION IS THAT?!

Every time he speaks after a dismal performance after the match I always sit there saying to myself “What on Earth are you talking about”.

The media trying so hard to get ETH sacked…..when liverpool had bad injuries with VVD out, y’all didnt have the same energy

Most fans want ETH out because of his poor tactics and substitutions. I also felt he should be braver to drop non-performing players irrespective of names, and even play academy players if he has to.

Now I’m ETH in because I realise from Rooney’s and Ole’s recent interviews that the mentality of these players are incredibly low and it’s no longer just speculation that the players can’t cope on this stage.

I can understand ETH saying positive things and coming off as “crazy” but if you have players who are weak minded and aren’t willing to fight, you can’t be tough cos they’ll cave and where does that leave you for the rest of the season?! Jason Sancho case in point. I rather come across as insane to the media but hope that I’m lifting the team enough to get a string of performances to save my job and give the fans at least something to cheer about until I can have a summer clear out.

Keane is a freaking legend but that approach with these weak players will kill them and ETH would lose the dressing room.

This man keeps dropping off bombs on and off the field..A gift that keeps on giving..Most delulu man on this green earth
What a GIFT! Hand him a 15 years contract and 5 years add ons

The problem for Utd in recruiting an elite manager in the Summer is that Liverpool, Bayern and Barca will also be looking for new managers.

From the moment I heard “A new era begins. .” from ETH. I knew it was the joke of the century. He has the guts to say it while Klopp/Guardiola are competing against each other by 1 point in the Primer league he acted like he can compete with them ro
