4-3-3 with Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes in central midfield (both as #8
According to the Topflight, this formation appears to be the most preferred formation for Erik ten Hag if he intends to field both Mount and Bruno Fernandes. Mount would serve as a direct replacement for Christian Eriksen in this setup, while Casemiro would continue as the lone sitting #6. This will be a high-risk high-reward formation for Manchester United as there will be no Eriksen to provide the defensive cover that he provided whenever Bruno Fernandes ventured outside of his position.

Mason Mount As An Eriksen replacement
Mount has, at times, played in a deeper role too. The midfielder’s work rate means he could be an option alongside Casemiro and Fernandes in midfield.
This could be as a number eight with Fernandes in a 4-3-3, or simply behind the stand-in United captain, ahead of Casemiro. Ten Hag has shown he is happy to trust a more attack-minded player alongside Casemiro as he showed with Eriksen. Mount is far more mobile than the Dane though and will be a better option to press opponents.

Mount likes to drift into the left half-space and arrive in the box late. This role would particularly suit against teams where United are expected to dominate the ball and can afford an extra attacking option.

Think the midfield would be in much better place right away in terms of depth as these players fit the type of players eth needs to play his brand of football better.
And these guys fit the age and potential profile that they should be rotation players, surely it would be better for squad moral with guys who aren’t expecting to start every game. Sounds like too much sense/work for Murtough and United though.

Those two + a striker are priority. Then hopefully we can move on some deadwood and start adding in positions that aren’t life and death for the team.
I think he will improve the game, his got passion his got skill and good passing this is something Man United were known for players with good passing; he make good passes in games and i’m sure he will even get some goals but i think his going to really help the attackers get into those good postions with those passes and lead to something good for them.

It’s interesting hearing ten hag speaking on rashford because he mentions a lot of qualities which he possesses, however they are all physical and technical, the one thing he didn’t speak positively about was his mentality and for me this is what has always separated Rashford from the very best.
In football and sport as a whole mentality is the one thing you need more than anything, it’s what separates the good from the great and I don’t know if rashford has that real hunger and desire in him to be great. The kind of desire where you’re willing to get hurt to score a goal.
