As one of the best clubs in English football history with over a century of greatness, Manchester United has produced numerous football legends. The likes of Paul Scholes, Eric Cantona, Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville, David Beckham, and Ole Gunnar Solskajer are highly rated in the Ferguson history of United.

From winning their first league title in 1907/08, Man-United have been one of the most talked-about clubs in the world and the best supported too, regularly selling out Old Trafford and every stadium they play in.

While a full list of the best United players or legends of all-time is very tall, SportsFila breaks down the Top 10 Best Man United Players (Legends) of All-Time.

1. Paul Scholes (718 Appearances, GOALS: 155)

“The Ginger Ninja” the fans call him at Old Trafford. With players doing all kinds of commercials and modeling shoots, Paul Scholes is certainly an unique footballer.

Like his fellow Fledgling Gary Neville, Scholes spent his entire career at Manchester United. He rarely gave interviews and even avoided all the drama of retirement by announcing it unexpectedly. Scholes is probably the most naturally gifted player to have played under Ferguson.

His talent oft is hidden due to his poor tackling. He had received 90 yellow cards and four red cards in the League making him the third most booked player.

Many other contemporaries like Thierry Henry, Alan Hansen and Xavi have openly commented about their awe about Scholes.

Like his teammate Nani said, Scholes can pass, score goals on left, right, head and literally do everything. He is THE complete footballer.

2. Wayne Rooney

Rooney is among the Top 10 Best Man United Players (Legends) of All-Time

A great player who utd have still got great things to expect from. From the age of 16 he has shown the world that he is a world class footballer.

He is the complete player, he can pass, shoot, head, he’s quick and strong and can play in midfield as well (centre or wing). Rooney still got so many records to be broken.

Ole gunnar vs Wayne Rooney

As with Ronaldo he’s a bit high on this list. His goal scoring is the stuff of legend as is his United career. I actually have Rooney at 5 and Ronaldo at 8.

Of course, Ronaldo could have went on to be much higher. Rooney’s red devil record make him worthy of a top 5.

Rooney! Rooney! The one who has un beaten by messi and cr7 the white pele will again be alive for Red Devils and would make them win each and every street.

A CHEER FOR white pele or bickyler or wayne mark rooney go rooney go and make Manu again be alive, go.

3. Gary Neville

Gary Neville called time on an illustrious playing career on 2 February 2011, almost 20 years after making his debut for United.

He belongs to an elite group of players who have skippered the Reds to Premier League title glory.

Following on from Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane, Neville realised a lifelong dream as he became the fifth United captain to lift the Premier League trophy following the Reds’ triumph in 2006/07.

Neville himself had missed the final stages of that season, having suffered ankle ligament damage just 11 minutes into the visit of Bolton to Old Trafford on 17 March 2007. The same injury kept him out for most of the 2007/08 season.

The Bury-born defender was handed the skipper’s armband following Keane’s departure during 2005/06.

Being one of the Reds’ most consistent and committed performers since establishing himself in the side in 1994/95 at the expense of Paul Parker, Neville was a natural choice.

As loyal a servant as you could hope to have, and in an age where players rarely stayed put for long, he was among a dying breed of one-club men. “United is the only club I’ve ever wanted to play for,” he says.

4. Bobby Charlton (Top 10 Best Man United Players (Legends) of All-Time)

Sir Robert “Bobby” Charlton is an English former football player, regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time, and an essential member of the England team who won the World Cup in 1966, the year he also won the Ballon d’Or.
Charlton being 8th just shows how inaccurate these lists are come on he’s the all time leading goal scorer for club and country, as well as the most appearances how can rooney or keane be placed higher its just wrong there great players but there not on the level charlton was.

Charlton was one of a handful of englishmen to lift the world cup I’m sorry but this guy should be top 5 of all time not 8th in manchester uniteds list, he’s a real LEGEND respected by every fellow professional

Charlton has to be the greatest Manchester United player of all time. Most goals ever scored by a united player, and was crucial in seeling United as a superpower in the 60’s.

Was a perfect attacking midfield, that was strong, could dribble and a powerful finishing ability. By far the best.

5. Cristiano Ronaldo

When Alex Ferguson beat Arsenal to the signature of a raw 18-year-old Portuguese winger, nobody knew the footballing monster he would grow into.

Rio Ferdinand recalled how Ronaldo practised harder than any player he ever witnessed; in training, after and in the gym. The Portuguese international proved so much more than the ‘one-trick show pony’ opposition derided him.

Ronaldo golden boot

The flair and striking of the ball developed over time as all the effort and hard work paid off.

In his six years at Old Trafford, he won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two League Cups, a Champions L

Le Roi”.“Le Dieu”. Or good old – but never, ever, plain old – Eric. Whatever you want to call Monsieur Cantona, the Frenchman’s four-and-a-half seasons at Old Trafford are the stuff of legend. Deservingly, Ronaldo has written his name among the Top 10 Best Man United Players (Legends) of All-Time.

6. Eric Cantona

No.7 shirt collar as stiffly upright as if it had been starched, that imperious look, theatrical swagger and poise, Eric Cantona was born to play for Manchester United .

And, even better, he was pinched from across the Pennines to do so.

The wandering ‘enfant terrible’ of French football, despite title success with Marseille in 1991 and close on a half-century of caps for his country, Cantona had famously ‘retired’ from the game at 25 when a trial with Sheffield Wednesday alerted the attentions of Leeds United boss Howard Wilkinson, eager to bolster his side’s flagging title fortunes for the 1991/92 run-in.

Enough said about thaT. Astonishingly, given his success in Yorkshire and a Charity Shield hat-trick against Liverpool during the 1992/93 curtain raiser, Sir Alex Ferguson’s enquiry as to whether the mercurial Frenchman might be for sale was met with a nod in December.

7. Ryan Giggs

With United, Gigs won:

  • Twelve Premier League Winners Medals
  • Four FA Cups
  • Three League Cups
  • Two Champions League

And a bunch of other individual honors make Ryan Giggs the most decorated footballer in England.

The Manchester United fans voted him as the greatest Manchester United player ever in their Inside United magazine.

Ryan Giggs/ Top 10 Best Man United Players (Legends) of All-Time

He has never been sent off for Manchester United ever in his career which spans over two decades now.

That is probably an under-rated achievement considering the fact that the game has become hyper-competitive these days.

With 876 appearances and 159 goals, he is the most capped United player of all time. Taking aside that 159 goals, he should have at least made 1,000 odd assists for the team.

He is truly a team player with no hint of selfishness whatsoever.

8. Peter Schmeichel

‘The Great Dane’, the rock upon which the Premier League success was built. For eight years, Peter Schmeichel was indisputably the best goalkeeper in England, if not the world.

As a last line of defence, Schmeichel was mentally and physically intimidating for opponents. Brave and unorthodox, the Dane was a formidable barrier, introducing and perfecting the star jump as a goalkeeping technique.

9. George Best

George Best is literally the best among the Top 10 Best Man United Players (Legends) of All-Time.

An apocryphal tale, quoted by the man himself which sums the mercurial talent which Manchester United saw the best of, and the worst.

Sir Matt Busby harnessed the most skilful player ever seen in English football. Best could control the ball in a way others dare not dream of. And left defenders with nightmares.

All too briefly. Headline maker, league champion, European champion; the European Footballer of the Year, completing the Holy Trinity’s hat-trick of wins and the last Briton to win for a decade.

Words barely do Best on the football pitch justice. This video captures the essence of George Best; #1 in our list of the top 10 best Manchester United players of all time.

10. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Solskjaer enjoyed a successful playing career before going into management.

Signed by Man Utd from Norwegian club Molde in 1996, Solskjaer spent 11 seasons at Old Trafford, scoring 91 goals in 235 Premier League appearances and helping his side win six PL titles.

The Norway international memorably scored the added-time winner for United against Bayern Munich in the 1999 UEFA Champions League final.

He also remains the only substitute to score four goals in a Premier League match, achieving the feat in a 19-minute appearance against Nottingham Forest in 1999.

Having hung up his boots in 2007, Solskjaer continued to work for Sir Alex Ferguson, coaching the first-team strikers before taking charge of the reserve team.

In November 2010 he became manager of Molde and, in his debut season, guided his former club to their first league title in their 100-year history.

Molde retained their title, before going on to win the Norwegian Cup in the following campaign.

Solskjaer landed his first managerial role in the Premier League in January 2014 when he was announced as manager of Cardiff City, who were lying one point above the relegation zone.

The Bluebirds were relegated after finishing 20th in the Premier League.

After eight months at the Welsh club Solskjaer returned to Molde, who finished runners-up in the Norwegian top flight in successive seasons.

In December 2018, he was confirmed as caretaker manager of Man Utd for the remainder of the season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed Manchester United manager in March 2019 following a spell in caretaker charge.

Following 10 wins out of 13 in the Premier League and a comeback victory against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League the Norwegian was rewarded with a three-year deal.

In his first full season in charge Solskjaer guided Man Utd to a third-placed finish, securing UEFA Champions League qualification for the 2020/21 campaign.

Gareth Southgate to Manchester United Doesnt’ Make Sense

Published

There is NO REASON for Gareth Southgate to be linked with the Manchester United job

Gareth Southgate is the only person in the Universe who can turn Manchester United into Middlesbrough within no time

The English media is trying all their best to push Southgate to united, but he is championship level manager at best

The England national team is waay better than this Manu squad, and he has had 0 success ( reaching semis ain’t success). So what exactly are people expecting if he becomes Manu boss

Absolutely no way! Why would Man U hire Southgate? That would be the worse decision in the history of the game.

ETH outwitted Klopp last weekend in one of the best and most dramatic FA cup clashes in years and I’m sorry but Southgate would not have won that game and ETH has had to deal with Ronaldo, Sancho, Greenwood and so on, he deserves more time

Soccer Football – Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on the pitch before the match REUTERS/Umit Bektas/ File photo

I have been saying this for weeks now. If United were under any other manager especially Southgate, they would be fighting for relegation right now. The problem at United is not Ten Hag but the players.

People keep saying that Ten Hag’s style of football at United is not attractive and no identity but there is so much that a manager can do if the players themselves are not good enough or not putting enough effort. Ten Hag’s Ajax were playing attractive football and he managed to get them to the SF of the CL.

Without him, look at Ajax now. And the media keep pushing their agenda to get Ten Hag sack and replace him with a much worse manager like Southgate. If Ten Hag is managing England right now, with the players they have, we won’t see such a passive football like we saw yesterday vs Brazil. Ask Liverpool fans, would they replace Klopp with Southgate? I rest my case.

Liverpool blame themselves for FA Cup loss to Man United

Published

Liverpool only have themselves to blame for loss to Manchester United. Had to find a way to squeeze in the random Bruno slag off in between. Dude was dead on his feet at full time, and had to slot in to center back for the last 30 minutes.

SportsFila reflect on Manchester United’s 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup Quarterfinals and look ahead to the semifinals where Erik ten Hag’s side will take on Coventry.

How come everybody seems to have forgotten that 2 of LFC’s goals were pure luck?

More shots, same shots on goal, higher goal expectancy. What is this narrative that Liverpool should have put this game away, if anything we should’ve put this game away! They had a good 20, 25 minute stint where they kept the ball in the second half, but did nothing with it, we deservedly won this game.

For Liverpool fans: don’t say that we lost to Manchester United because Jota Trent Alisson and jones didn’t play. We have to stop doing that every time a team loses a big game it’s very stupid because had you won, you wouldn’t be saying that. Don’t forget that when y’all drew 0-0 to them at home Trent Alisson and Jones started. Keep in mind how well they’ve been playing despite having lots of injuries they almost beat Manchester City’s full strength squad last week.

Also, you lose to Manchester United, 2 fringe players for them decided the game for them, Liverpool didn’t play well and a loss is a loss you have to accept it otherwise you’re a sole loser and are unwilling to take it.

It’s interesting how nothing much is said about the mistakes made by Liverpool, but all criticism is piled on Bruno; how supposedly poor he was.

Ten Hag Says Man United Are on Track

Published

on

Ten Hag claims United is moving in the right direction 👀 WHAT DIRECTION IS THAT?!

Every time he speaks after a dismal performance after the match I always sit there saying to myself “What on Earth are you talking about”.

The media trying so hard to get ETH sacked…..when liverpool had bad injuries with VVD out, y’all didnt have the same energy

Most fans want ETH out because of his poor tactics and substitutions. I also felt he should be braver to drop non-performing players irrespective of names, and even play academy players if he has to.

Now I’m ETH in because I realise from Rooney’s and Ole’s recent interviews that the mentality of these players are incredibly low and it’s no longer just speculation that the players can’t cope on this stage.

I can understand ETH saying positive things and coming off as “crazy” but if you have players who are weak minded and aren’t willing to fight, you can’t be tough cos they’ll cave and where does that leave you for the rest of the season?! Jason Sancho case in point. I rather come across as insane to the media but hope that I’m lifting the team enough to get a string of performances to save my job and give the fans at least something to cheer about until I can have a summer clear out.

Keane is a freaking legend but that approach with these weak players will kill them and ETH would lose the dressing room.

This man keeps dropping off bombs on and off the field..A gift that keeps on giving..Most delulu man on this green earth
What a GIFT! Hand him a 15 years contract and 5 years add ons

The problem for Utd in recruiting an elite manager in the Summer is that Liverpool, Bayern and Barca will also be looking for new managers.

From the moment I heard “A new era begins. .” from ETH. I knew it was the joke of the century. He has the guts to say it while Klopp/Guardiola are competing against each other by 1 point in the Primer league he acted like he can compete with them ro
