Man Utd Threatens to Pull Out of Mason Mount
Manchester United are set to drop their interest in Mason Mount and turn their attention to Brighton & Hove Albion’s star Moises Caicedo.
The Times report that United are focusing on other midfield targets, with Caicedo top of their list.
This decision arrives after Chelsea rejected United’s third offer for Mount, worth £50 million plus £5m in add-ons.
The Blues have countered the proposal with £58m plus £7m in bonuses, but United are reportedly unhappy due to the prolonged negotiations.
Mason Mount Nears Man United Move
Many thought that Mason Mount would end up at Manchester United, but due to the rejected bids from Chelsea, they dropped out of the race for him and of course they need some athleticism and energy through the midfield, but the biggest problem in the Manchester United team and it has been evident at times last season is the goalkeeper and striker position.
David De Gea might leave and even if he still stays, they need Andre Onana and not only is he a sweeper keeper but he’s top class and had the most clean sheets in champions league football playing a pivotal role in Inter Milan reaching the final. At striker, both Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst aren’t good enough to lead the line and there’s been lots of talk surrounding Harry Kane, if they don’t get him, Rasmus Hojlund is a great alternative.
He’s unproven but has lots of promise and showed it with Atalanta this season and for Denmark in EURO qualifiers he has already scored 6 goals for them and he’s a player who’s not the finished article and even if he doesn’t have proven experience at this level, he’s a better option to have than what Manchester United have at striker and he’s young and can give them a decade of quality.

Manchester United have had a third bid for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, worth about £55m, rejected.
United had warned they would walk away from negotiations with the Blues if the offer was not accepted.
Chelsea are thought to want at least £58m plus another £7m in possible add-ons for the England international.
However, United feel that figure is excessive as Mount only has a year left on his contract and talks about an extension have stalled.
United have previously had bids worth up to £40m and £50m for Mount rejected by their Premier League rivals. It is understood Chelsea have told United they are prepared to meet to resolve the matter.
A Red Devil fan told SportsFila.com: Chelsea is incredibly naive if they think there’s another team out there that will offer anything close to $55mil for Mount. Then again, they’ve made so many insanely poor deals lately,
No-one else wants Mount and the player himself wants to leave. ManU will get him I’m sure but what they have done well here is to do all of this negotiation early in the window rather than towards the end of it. United can now ‘step away’ and let Mount’s representatives kick up an almighty stink with Chelsea until the ManU offer is accepted.
Chelsea were trying to be clever here – thinking ManU would continue to bid higher and higher. Its good strategy from Utd to call their bluff.
Unless of course Liverpool don’t just come in with a £65m bid and steal him.

Chelsea is being incredibly stupid here. Why would they reject 55 mil for a player who will be free next summer and is reluctant on signing a new deal? No other club would pay anywhere near that amount for Mount, but I’m glad to see United aren’t spending a whole transfer window on one player.
This only make sense when you do business with man united, the world of football have found a way to exploit united financially over the years due to united’s desperation to sign players shown in the past and Chelsea are exploiting that avenue. Well, i would say united should play hardball and drop negotiation immediately. Mount can put in a transfer request if he want out.

The man deserves all the praise in the world for being so resilient.
It’s interesting hearing ten hag speaking on rashford because he mentions a lot of qualities which he possesses, however they are all physical and technical, the one thing he didn’t speak positively about was his mentality and for me this is what has always separated Rashford from the very best.
In football and sport as a whole mentality is the one thing you need more than anything, it’s what separates the good from the great and I don’t know if rashford has that real hunger and desire in him to be great. The kind of desire where you’re willing to get hurt to score a goal.
