Los Blancos outcast Sergio Ramos has insisted that he “never wanted to leave Real Madrid” after earlier bursting into tears as he said farewell to the club, having spent 16 years in the Spanish capital.

Ramos, 35, has made 671 appearances for Real Madrid and won four Champions League and five La Liga titles, but was unable to agree a contract extension with the club.

Is Sergio Ramos going to Manchester United?

It’s understood that Sergio Ramos ‘prefers Manchester United move over Manchester City’. According to AS, both United and City are monitoring Ramos, but the ‘history and greatness’ that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have is attracting the Spaniard to Old Trafford.

Varane, 28, has also said to be a target at Old Trafford. The French and Real Madrid defender is also out of contract in 12 months and is unlikely to renew with Los Blancos.

While Jose Mourinho believes the Sergio Ramos would make an impact in the Premier League, former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison insists he would be a risky signing for United.

If Ramos wants a two-year contract, are United going to get the very best out of Ramos for two years? Maybe they would get more out of Varane.”

United may want to take advantage of that by signing him up themselves. And they’re apparently willing to include a big name in a deal to make it happen.

United are not prioritising the potential signing of a centre-back, as they are currently in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for winger Jadon Sancho.

Why is Ramos leaving Real Madrid?
According to the Athletic, Sergio Ramos is leaving Real Madrid because he failed to agree to sign a new 1-year contract with the Spanish giants.  Also, the defensive captain was unable to influence Real’s fortunes as they crashed out of the UEFA Champions League against  Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

“I would like to clarify that I never wanted to leave Real Madrid, I always wanted to continue here,” he said on Thursday. “The club offered me the chance to renew my contract, but with COVID and everything, it kept being put off.

“Then in the last months, the club made me an offer of one year, with a drop in salary. Money was never a problem, the president knew from my mouth that my issue was contract length — I wanted two years, for me and my family.”

Club president Florentino Perez, who oversaw the €27 million deal to sign Ramos from Sevilla in 2005, said the defender’s departure was “not an easy day”.

“You’ve been really special to me, and you and I have lived and suffered through historic moments for Real Madrid,” he added.

What has Sergo Ramos said after leaving Madrid?

Speaking at a press conference, Ramos said: “I am never moved by money. It was about years – I wanted two, just to be relaxed, for my family. I felt I had earned it. But it was not to be. A new stage will begin now.

“I was never told that there was an expiry date to the offer. I thought it was just part of the negotiation – as always has happened over 16 years. But then I was told time had run out.

“I don’t know why this offer had an expiry date, without being told, while there was a negotiation. Maybe I misunderstood, but nobody had told me the offer could be withdrawn.”

Where could Ramos go next?

That is uncertain at this stage.

Ramos ruled out a move to Barcelona with a “resounding no” and revealed that he is not considering Sevilla though it is the “other club of (his) heart”.

He added: “We never thought in any moment about any other team.

“Since January I’ve been on the market, so there have been some calls to my brother from interested clubs. But we never had in mind leaving Real Madrid. From now, we will look for a good option.”

What was said at his send-off?

In a separate event before his press conference, Ramos bid farewell at the Bernabeu and started his speech, saying: “It is one of the most difficult moments of my life. You are never prepared to say goodbye to Real Madrid, but the moment has come.

“I want to thank my family, who has always been with me, also the club, the president, for all the affection he showed me, my coaches, team-mates, club staff.

How much of a loss to Real is Ramos?

Symbolically, his exit is huge. Ramos has been there for the recent consistent European success under Zinedine Zidane and has marshalled their defence for the best part of two decades.

The reality, though, might be slightly further from the imagery. Ramos has struggled for fitness over the last year, making just 15 appearances for Real in La Liga.

He also missed out on the Spain squad for Euro 2020, suggesting he has dipped down a level as he has gotten older. At 35, he might not have been worth the two-year deal he wanted.

Real will probably benefit from Ramos’ disciplinary issues no longer cropping up. He has a record 191 cards in La Liga, 20 of them red cards. That is also a record for the Spanish top flight. He is also the most-booked player ever in all major European divisions.

Yet Ramos, who joined the La Liga side for a record fee for a Spanish defender in 2005, has undoubtedly exceeded the price tag Real offered for his services 16 years ago.

The 35-year-old also has an impressive goalscoring record for the club despite his position in central defence, having notched 101 goals in 671 appearances.

Jude Bellingham the best player in the world right now?

Published

Right now yes because of the impact he has at both Real Madrid and the national team. What I like about him is that he knows there is always room to improve and I’m sure he’s gonna get even better. He’s only 20 years old. He’s learning from another two masters such as Modric and Kroos. If he continues like this the amount that Madrid had to pay for him will be consider a bargain.

No matter how many times it’s brought up, it still boggles that mind that Jude Bellingham is only 20. The latest chapter in the generational talent’s likely-to-be legendary career was dominating a 3-1 victory for England over Italy at Wembley Stadium. Bellingham was sublime throughout, with the result booking the Three Lions’ place at Euro 2024.

If you actually watch the man (not a boy) and appreciate what he is doing it is great but it’s just the start. There’s always someone who stands out in a team. Jude exudes confidence and has a very level head. Without injuries he may end up being one of the most decorated English players ever. It’s just a shame that Real Madrid got him rather than Liverpool. Haha!

Sancho Pushes Man Utd to Sign Jude Bellingham in Summer

Yeah right now, hes the best player in the world. A 20 year old playing like a 30 year old vet. Creates chances, scores goals, team player, passes well, great awareness, ball skills are on point.. everything.

Toni Kroos mocks Eden Hazard after Jude Bellingham Deal

At the moment Mbappe is the best and if he moves to Real Madrid you will see him establish that no.1 position for, at least, the next few years. I also think Mbappe will take centre stage at Madrid which always helps at these sorts of clubs when it comes to the ballon d’or. Jude’s time will come but not just yet.

Arguments for Guirassy at Stuttgart and Sané at Bayern being the only players more in form than Bellingham at the moment. As for best in world, it is still hard to look past Mbappé.

Jude Bellingham Unveiled As New Real Madrid Player

That’s what English pundits and media like to do. Hype their players who are in form as if they are the next Messi or Ronaldo. No doubt Jude has immense talent, and potential to be an all-time great, but how many young players were called that. He probably is in the best form, but not even 1/3 of the season is over and he is the best player already? Come on. What has he won, Halaand won a treble, Mbappe won a World Cup and was in the last final.

Eden Hazard and Philippe Coutinho Are the Biggest La Liga Flops of the Season

Eden will surely be missed, It was pure pleasure delight to have been a fan All the best to him and family henceforth Love u Hazard.
Sad, his career essentially finished after the 2018-19 season, he was an incredible player at his best such a pity he didn’t have a long time at the top and such a pity he didn’t try to revive his career in the last couple of years.

Chelsea vs Real Madrid 2-0 Champions League Semifinal 2nd Leg 2021

I really enjoyed seeing his dazzling skills, especially when he was at Chelsea. I had looked forward to seeing him do the same at Real Madrid, but unfortunately the number and type of injuries that he suffered, really affected him from showing his potential in La Liga.
I’m very sad to see him

Lucky enough to see him play live. One of the most talented footballers to have ever played the game. I’ll never forget the game when Chelsea trashed Everton and the 1-2’s with Pedro for him to score the 4th goal of the match.
