Martinez is great ,his speciality is performing well against high pressing teams ,he can find spaces and passes unlike other defenders who usually give the ball away under pressure
Varane is a clear upgrade on maguire. Maybe his passing is not as good but defensively he’s way better. Martinez’s passing skills can make up for Varane’s lack, but what Varane brings in defense is a lot, from his physicality to football IQ and experience.
The energy Martinez brings to the game is amazing, he’s so quick on his feet and really wants to play ball – definitely a great addition to the squad! He was two steps ahead of stopping that own goal, just look at his response time, simply amazing! Win or Lose, Trust Ten Hag peeps, and give him time! Remember how long Klopp had to shape Liverpool.
Lisandro plays absolutely brilliantly. 0 own goals, 0 mistakes, 0 fouls, 0 yellows or reds. His positioning is unlike anything we’ve seen before and he really lifts the team’s spirits up and makes the team tactically and technically considerably stronger.

It’s made the difference in the team when we’re not messing with the ‘dead wood’ (Maguire,Shaw,Fred etc.) we clearly perform much better without them. There’s also an air of calm and trust there as well, as we’re not scared Maguire is gonna slot it past David De Gea himself!! 😂 either way it’s a step in the right direction and the game would have looked very different had all those aforementioned muppets been on the pitch for us instead 100%.

In football and sport as a whole mentality is the one thing you need more than anything, it’s what separates the good from the great and I don’t know if rashford has that real hunger and desire in him to be great. The kind of desire where you’re willing to get hurt to score a goal.
