Roma vs Atalanta 4-1: Mourinho to win Serie A with Smalling

Roma vs Atalanta 4-1: will Mourinho win Serie A with Chris Smalling? Tammy Abraham helped himself to a double as Roma claimed a hugely impressive win at Atalanta, ending the home side’s six-game winning streak in the process.

It took Roma less than a minute to break the deadlock when Abraham powered through a crowd of defenders and his deflected shot left Juan Musso with no chance.
Atalanta responded well but committed too many bodies forward and were punished when Roma sprang a counter-attack with Nicolo Zaniolo – the creator of the opening goal – squeezing it past Musso at his near post.

Roma vs Atalanta 4-1

Jose Mourinho’s Roma stunned Atalanta on Saturday with a 4-1 win at Gewiss Stadium for the Giallorossi’s first win over a top five opponent in nearly two years, which, at least temporarily, brought them back into Serie A’s top five.

Tammy Abraham scored twice as Chris Smalling and Nicolo Zaniolo also tallied to end La Dea’s five-match winning streak in the Italian topflight despite Bryan Cristante’s own goal which threatened to bring Gian Piero Gasperini’s men back into it.

Duvan Zapata had an equalizer ruled out due to Jose Luis Palomino’s offside and that was all Jose Mourinho’s visitors needed to motivate them to kill off Atalanta with Smalling and Abraham’s second goals following the canceled leveler.

“We certainly made mistakes and conceded a messy early goal like against Milan and Villarreal which made it difficult,” Gasperini raged about the VAR call after the final whistle. “However, as in those cases, the team recovered and was playing one-way football. That incident changed the game and I demand an explanation. If Palomino did not touch the ball, why is it offside?

“If Cristante got the ball, what difference does it make? Are we joking, here? If Palomino does not touch the ball, then it is not interfering with play — he is behind Cristante. It would have been 2-2 with 20 minutes left and that is a very different game with our momentum.

Mourinho eyes Serie A title with AS Roma

Mourinho was delighted with Roma’s impressive result and a performance which had been coming for some time and enabled the Portuguese to silence criticism of his team being unable to beat a top five side for the past 19 months.

Roma is poised to challenge Napoli and Inter Milan for the Scudetto.

“Our spirit was fantastic, and the players clearly knew that controlling the game for 90 minutes against a team like would require deep defending at times,” said Mourinho post-match. “We were excellent in every way. We did very well in the penalty area, kept an eye on dangers, and sacrificed when we had nobody on the bench to replace Rick Karsdorp when his shinpad was wrecked.

“All I heard was that it had been 19 months since Roma beat a top five side. Now you can say it has been 20 minutes. I will not talk about Inter Milan as they are a level above everyone else in Serie A, but it is not enough to just have tactical organization or physicality against Atalanta, AC Milan, or Napoli. You need everything to be perfect.

“In the past, this team did not feel confident when things went wrong. When under pressure, we did not do well. It has been fantastic for me to see the way that we were able to suffer. If we had conceded at half-time like we did here, we would have crumbled before. Instead, our approach remained the same. This is a really big step forward mentally.”

United in talks to sign Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina

Published

This player is so underrated. Sofyan has been one of the best players on the pitch and I have only watched him play against teams with good midfielders like Spain, France, Inter, Napoli etc.

As a United fan this is my favourite signing. Having said that, he’ll probably come to United and be rubbish as that’s what usually happens.

Man united cant afford the fee but instead want to loan him with a obligation to buy which doesn’t make much sense as he’s in his last year. I assume the fee will be his worth now rather than what he would be worth in a Years times.

Sofyan Amrabat Manchester United interest grows large

Manchester United are preparing a formal bid for Sofyan Amrabat, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer guru has revealed United consider the Moroccan midfielder their “top target” and Old Trafford officials are set to send an official opening offer to Fiorentina.

Reports earlier in the day, conversely, suggested United had made a loan offer for Amrabat.

The Athletic contended this was the only type of move United’s current economic situation could afford, with the club constrained by Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

If united could go back tin the first of June, I reckon they wouldn’t have bought Mount. they actually would have been better off spending 55m +5 on Hojbjerg and Amrabat for the same price. Going for Kane with the Onana and Hojlund money.

The lad isnt even training with the team, and florentina are waiting , for United to make a serious and decent bid for him / or this request for loan move.

United Moves Closer to Signing a Monster Player

it really is only up to United to screw it up, and not get what they need the most in the transfer window. Sadly, United and the glazers have such a disorganization and have some non- footballing people , in charge of signings that they can let this ideal, signing, in ideal conditions, go.

And miss out on what we need the most. a 30 million pound world class defensive midfielder, which club is in agreemenet to let him go, and that the player has made it clear to the club he wants to go, and the club have been cool about it. Really United it[s up to you , to not screw this up on the position you need the most,  do good business , casemiro cant be alone in the defensive midfield position all season. Dont miss out on this my lads.

Romelu Lukaku close to Roma loan deal

Jose mourinho still secretly working as a chelsea agent – we all salute you sir  👏 Romelu Lukaku close to Roma loan deal

It’s just so good to see Chelsea have a huge clear out and removed all of those negative demotivated deadwood players just collecting large pay checks and doing nothing on the pitch. The future looks bright for this new young Chelsea team, it’s a complete new team.

Chelsea are drawing a close to the saga surrounding Romelu Lukaku’s immediate future by agreeing a loan deal with Roma.

The 30-year-old will take a pay cut to reunite with his former boss Jose Mourinho with Chelsea receiving just over £5million as a loan fee.

Chelsea accepted less than their desired £8m fee so that they will not have to make any contribution to Lukaku’s salary while he is in Rome where he will earn around £6.4million.

However, he must take a further cut should he return to Chelsea again after a year with Lukaku previously raking in £320,000-per-week, while the Blues have also inserted a £37million release clause into his revised contract.
Is this guy ever going to spend more than a season in a team.

Lukaku is actually Harry Maguire’s brother

If he was still a Utd player. They would HAVE kept hold of him until his contract ran down and then let him go on a free. Save themselves a pay off, while still paying his wages for another two years! 😏. That’s the stupidity that goes on at UTD.

Should have sold Lukaku to Saudi instead of loaning him. This summer they could have got 40 million for him + get him off the payroll. With him going to Roma without an obligation to buy, they just save the wages for 1 season but after that are still stuck with him + won’t get 40 million anymore.

Lukaku rejoined Chelsea for £97.5m in 2021 but scored only eight Premier League goals in 26 games before being loaned out to Internazionale last season. The return of the striker has been a disaster for the club and they are struggling to find a permanent home for the 30-year-old.

Romelu Lukaku Confused about His Future

The player will not be an issue for another season but with a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2026, the Blues will be back in the same situation next summer.

However, he must take a further cut should he return to Chelsea again after a year with Lukaku previously raking in £320,000-per-week, while the Blues have also inserted a £37million release clause into his revised contract.

Romelu Lukaku Confused about His Future

Chelsea had been intent on selling Lukaku this summer, until the Belgian turned down a move to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, effectively sabotaged a switch to Inter Milan and then decided he did not want to join Juventus. Inter had offered £23m and £26m before pulling out after discovering that Lukaku had been talking to Juventus.

Inter Milan end interest in signing Romelu Lukaku

Sky Italy are reporting that Inter Milan have ended their interest in signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Inter agree a fee with Chelsea then Lukaku starts talking with Juventus behind Inters back. Snaking the club he snaked Chelsea for. Causing enemies everywhere he goes.

He has been a problem to Chelsea several times, to MU, to Everton, why not to Inter? And Juve is the next in line. He puts his ego over a club and its fans. Balotelli type.

Romelu Lukaku Confused about His Future

Inter have informed Chelsea that they no longer wish to pursue the signing of striker Romelu Lukaku, 90min SOURCES have told SportsFila.com.

The two clubs spent months negotiating in the hope of seeing Lukaku return to Inter on a permanent basis and an agreement was close to being struck before talks completely collapsed on Friday evening.

A large part of Inter’s willingness to keep negotiating with Chelsea was their belief that Lukaku was only focused on joining them. The Belgian has already rebuffed advances from Saudi Arabia and told Inter that a return to San Siro was the only thing on his mind.

Romelu Lukaku Confused about His Future

LUKAKU and pogba in the same team will be stinking.🙄🙄 Man utd vibes

Inter getting a taste of their own medicine playing hard ball with Man Utd now Chelsea playing with them.

Where will Romelu Lukaku play his football next season. Inter Milan won’t be signing him on a permanent basis, Chelsea won’t welcome him back to the squad and the player doesn’t want to be there.

He’s in a crossroads in his career right now. Romelu Lukaku’s move to Chelsea from Inter Milan 2 years ago, is one of the worst values for money ever and was a bad transfer for both parties that will unfortunately end up being one of the worst transfers in football history, because you signed him for 117 million and then not only does he flop, he was sent out on loan back to his former club in Serie A, and now that he’s back as a Chelsea player, he won’t play for the club ever again.

Are Chelsea Missing Lukaku, Timo Werner and Tuchel?

His transfer to Chelsea, the fact that he was expensive and was on the books of the club and he technically didn’t play for them last season, it tells you how poor their transfer business is getting expensive players for a lot of money just for them to flop and they’ll continue paying huge transfer fees and it also tells you how poor of a club Chelsea have been ran recently. What club is he going to Juventus or Saudi Arabia, it’s either one of those 2 for Romelu Lukaku right now.

“Juventus wanted me before Inter, but when Conte joined Inter it was my priority to join them. In Italy, there’s only Inter for me.”

The Blues had demanded €40million (£34.3m) for the Belgian this transfer window, despite signing him for £97m just two years ago.

And Inter were prepared to pay £26m before Juventus became interested with reports they were happy to stump up the asking price.

They were also willing to pay Lukaku more in wages than Inter Milan, leading to a limbo situation between all three clubs.

The Nerazzurri then could not get hold of Lukaku, which left the club ‘annoyed’ and ‘deeply disappointed’ by his behaviour, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
